התערוכה נוצרה בשיתוף ״מיס פריזט – אלינור אגם״
ספורט הוא בבחינת מפה או מראה, שבאמצעותה ניתן לבחון את היחס לקונפליקטים חברתיים ותרבותיים מהותיים. אלמה מכנס קז מפנה את מבטה אל עבר השוליים של החברה הישראלית, תוך התמקדות בנשים, גברים ומקומות שלרוב מורחקים מהמרכז ונאלצים להילחם על מקומם, קולם ועל אופן הייצוג שלהם.

התערוכה מורכבת מסדרת צילומים ממגרש הכדורגל ומחוצה לו, במעקב אחר מועדון הכדורגל ״מכבי כישרונות חדרה״. כל הצילומים נעשו בשחור לבן וצולמו לאורך 6 שנים. אחת ממטרות התערוכה, היא לייצר מגוון ויזואלי של דימויים נשיים דרך עולם הכדורגל הנשי. מבחינת תקציבים, סיקור תקשורתי, ומעמד ציבורי, ענף כדורגל הנשים נמצא בתחתית ההיררכיה בישראל
הסדרה עוסקת לא רק בספורט הנשי אלא גם בחופשיותו של הגוף. מול המצלמה, אנחנו רגילים למשטר את הגוף באופן המקובל חברתית. (תעמדי זקוף, תחייכי, תסתכלי לכיוון המצלמה, תפסיקי לזוז וכו׳). הצילומים מביאים את חופשיותו של הגוף, התנועה הספונטנית שאינה עוברת דרך פילטרים חברתיים
בעזרת העדשה שלה, משתמשת אלמה מכנס קז בצילום, כדרך להוקיר כבוד למצולמים שלה ולהאיר את המאבקים שלהם. בדרך זו היא סוללת דרך לאנשים האלו, אל מרכז הבמה

LIKE A DANCE IN THE DARK

Sport serves as both a map and a mirror, offering a unique lens through which to observe our relationship with social and cultural conflicts. Alma Machnes Kass directs her focus towards the peripheries of Israeli society, centering on men, women and places that are often marginalized, therefore, compelled to assert their presence, voice, and identity.

Her project unfolds through a series of images that capture moments from both on and off the female soccer field, following Maccabi Kishronot Hedera Soccer Club.
The project consists of photographs, shot in black and white, which were taken for a period of over 6 years. In terms of budgets, coverage and public opinion, female soccer is at the bottom of the sports hierarchy in Israel.
One the project’s goals is to create a diverse visual representation of women
through the world of female soccer. The project deals not only with a female sport, but also with the freedom of the body. In the presence of a camera, we usually constrain ourselves to proper poses (“stand straight, smile, stop moving …”). The images bring us freedom and spontaneous motion without any social filters.
Through her lens, Alma Machnes Kass utilizes photography as a means to recognize and honor those she captures, showcasing their struggles. In doing so, she paves a way for these individuals to take the center stage.
